That’s what I want for you and your relationships. It’s why I started my practice.

As a therapist, my focus is on fostering deeper connections. To live a full and abundant life, you must have healthy connections with the people around you and with the world at large.

I’m here to help you restore peace… in your heart, body, and mind.

We have to talk about trauma.

So many of us are living in the shadows because of pain from our past. That’s why I’ve specialized in treating trauma.

McHam Family Therapy is a safe, nurturing space. It’s where you’ll receive compassion and support as you process the past and heal.

We’ll use the latest in neuroscience, like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, to desensitize you to the false narratives and distressing memories of trauma instilled in you.

Let me empower you!

Peace will come when you reclaim agency over your life and relationships.

Let me show you the path to growth and resilience… so you can heal the wounds of the past and move forward with confidence.

JanaMy road to becoming a therapist…

Growing up, I was often asked for advice and wisdom regarding relationships and life choices. For some reason, people thought I had all the answers.

But I knew better. I had so many questions about my own life, especially about the trauma I had experienced.

I still don’t have it all figured out; but after spending a lot of time with wise, accepting, and empathetic counselors, I knew that I was being led and called to do the same work with others.

So, I answered the call.

Being a mother of three small children and keeping a home running with my husband didn’t make it easy. But the nudges kept coming. I knew it was what I was meant to do, so I did it.

I got my master’s in marriage and family therapy at Abilene Christian University. Over the next eight years, I worked in various non-profit and private settings.

In 2024, I branched off and began my own practice. I wanted to help my clients while forming the next generation of therapists. It’s what I’m doing now, and I love it!

When I’m not doing therapy…

I have a beautiful family, with three children and a sweet husband of 18 years. My kids are involved in all sorts of activities like archery, ROTC, softball, jiu-jitsu, and more. They keep us busy!

When we are not carting our kids all over town or cheering them on in their respective activities, my husband and I love spending time together. He has his interests, and I have mine, but there’s a lot of overlap. We play golf, travel, and even play video games.

In my alone time, I love to read and record audiobooks. Music is definitely how I express myself, and my family loves a good dance party!
