Frequently Asked Questions

Where is your office located?

Our main office is located in Flower Mound on Parker Square:

600 Parker Square Road
Suite 290C
Flower Mound, TX 75028

We also have an office in Addison on Midway:

14725 Midway Road
Suite 200
Addison, TX 75001

We also have several therapists who see clients online.

Is your office accessible?
Yes. All locations have elevators to allow for easy access to the second-floor offices.
Do you offer video or phone sessions?
Yes, we offer online sessions. Most of our therapists offer both online and in-person options.
How long is a typical session?
A typical session lasts 45-50 minutes. Longer sessions can be scheduled for trauma therapy or as needed by the therapist.
What do I do to get started?
You can call the phone number or complete the contact form below.
How do I pay?
You will store a payment method in your profile, and your therapist will charge the card at the time of the session. You can use your HSA, debit, or credit card.
How do I make an appointment?
Call us at (469) 799-5243 to book an appointment.
What is your cancellation policy?

Life happens! We get that. We ask that appointments be canceled (when possible) at least 24 hours before the start time of the session.

If you cancel your appointment 3-24 hours before your session, you’ll be charged a late-cancellation fee of $75.

If you cancel your appointment less than one hour before your appointment time, you will be charged the full session fee.

What can I expect in the first session?

The first session is a time for you and the therapist to get to know each other, identify your goals for therapy, and determine whether you and the therapist are a good fit to work together.

We do not expect every therapist and client to click and get along. If you do not feel that you and the therapist are a good fit, please let us know, and we will find a therapist with whom you feel comfortable!

How long will I be in therapy?

Typical treatment takes anywhere from 6 – 15 sessions, depending on the issues you want to address and your goals.

The greatest determiner of the duration of therapy is your willingness to do the work necessary to create change in your life.

Does anyone cry in front of you?

Most people find themselves crying in therapy. We love it when people feel comfortable enough to let all that pent-up energy out!

Crying is an expression of big emotions, negative or positive, that the body cannot contain. It shows vulnerability and a willingness to be honest with yourself.

Do I have to tell you everything?

It is necessary to tell your therapist the information that pertains to the issues you want to address. Your therapist cannot read your mind.

Information about your past will help them understand how you function and see the world around you. So, the more transparent you can be, the faster you can get to work!

Who benefits from therapy?
Everyone… if they are willing to dig in and do the work!
What is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a type of therapy that reconnects the brain to the body. That helps you process past experiences so they no longer affect you in the present.

EMDR does not make you forget painful memories, but it desensitizes the body to negative experiences so that they no longer trigger you in the present.

What are the risks and benefits of doing therapy?
Therapy can be uncomfortable. It can be scary to open yourself up and be vulnerable to a stranger. However, as you get to know your therapist and share what impacts you and your daily life, you’ll start challenging yourself to do things differently, and your life will start getting better.
Are you a Christian counselor?
Most of our therapists are Christians. However, we are not Christian counselors who use Scripture on a regular basis. We respect all walks of faith and will only incorporate religion or faith in sessions with people who request that to be part of their process.
Do couples fight in front of you?
Yes, they do. It is actually very helpful to have couples argue in front of the therapist because it allows us to see a good example of what conflict actually looks, feels, and sounds like between the couple.
Do you take sides?

No. The only side a therapist takes is the side of healing.

There are times when behavior and mindset need to be challenged, and the therapist is responsible for calling out unhealthy or damaging patterns or behaviors. This may feel like they are taking sides, but it’s actually calling out what’s getting in the way of healing. That’s more for the couple than the individual change.

Do you prescribe medications?
No. As therapists, we are not able to prescribe medications. However, we gladly work alongside any professional managing your medications so that everyone is on the same team and working toward the same goals.
Are you licensed?

We have therapists who are master-level students, meaning they are still in school and learning how to be a therapist.

We also have associate-licensed therapists who have passed the state board exam and received a supervised license.

Finally, we have unrestricted licensed therapists who have gone through their master’s programs, passed the state test, and acquired 3000+ hours of clinical work under supervision.

Do you take notes?

Yes. We are required by law to take notes on all of our sessions. These notes are carefully stored as HIPAA-compliant files.

You are welcome to request your notes from sessions at any time unless you are seen as a couple. In this case, you must have signed consent from both parties for notes to be released.

Do I have to lie on a couch?
Not at all… although I’ve been told our couches are quite comfortable. If you want to lie down, feel free!
Am I allowed to ask personal questions?

Each therapist has a different comfort level with personal questions. That said, we are people, too, and we love to feel like we matter. So, ask away! We’ll let you know if we don’t feel comfortable answering certain questions.
